Timb Harris is Estradasphere's most versatile multi-instrumentalist.
As a performer and recording artist, he has worked throughout the United States, Europe, and Australia with many of today's leading 'new music' artists (John Zorn, William Winant, Gyan Riley, Scott Amendola, Ches Smith, Shahzad Ismaily, Alvin Curran, Fred Frith). He is also the violinist for the internationally recognized avant-rock group Secret Chiefs 3. His performances can be found in the catalogues of Tzadik Records, Mimicry Records, the End Records, Warner Bros., and even in the zombie video game Left 4 Dead 2. In the past, Timb has lent his hand to various Bay Area and Seattle chamber groups, symphonies, operas, and new music ensembles.
Born in Burbank, CA in 1977, he grew up playing string, brass, and percussion instruments in a wide variety of ensemble situations including: symphonies, drum corps, wind ensembles, marching bands, and rock bands. He went on to receive a BA from UCSC's music department in music performance on violin.
Timb is a natural educator having held leadership positions throughout his formative musical experience He has conducted youth orchestras at Arrowbear Music Camp and led musicianship workshops at the University of California @ Santa Cruz. |
